Booting around the web today I found a blog gaytlv that had some great remixes of (almost) everyones favorite, Madge Madonna.

Of course thinking of airlines, it takes us back to a clip we saw from Little Britain. Lou and Andy are on a flight to someplace in Europe!

There’s just something about twins that I (am I’m sure most of the world) just find completely alluring - especially when they’re as good looking as Carl and Greg over on Bukbuddies. I wonder if others are like me, with extreme curiosity about their sexuality. I mean, I know Carl and Greg are straight, but my gut just tells me that they must have fooled around or at least experimented with each other as they were going through puberty. We found this commercial browsing on youtube the other day and just had to post it here.

So, when did it happen? When did commercials start to come out of the closet? Was it when all those studies found that Gay people, supposedly, have much more disposable income that we could be ignored no longer. Was it when Gay people came out and (not so) subtly took over all the advertising agencies? Either way, mainstream Companies that have the sense to recognize that we are a major spending force, and represent over 10% of society, should be a “target market”. Take this commercial from AGF Mutual funds:

My belief, is that things that make people laugh, even if we are the target of the humor, could help to stop Homophobia. Less Homophobia, hopefully leads to less anti-gay violence.

Unfortunately some commercials never make it to air, however in time……Take this one from Guinness:

My favorite so far has to be this one from Levi’s, it was actually made in two versions, a gay and a straight one. In 1992, Levi Strauss & Co. became the first Fortune 500 company to extend full medical benefits to domestic partners of employees.

The straight version just has a woman in the phone booth instead of a man.

All I can say is if a Company is prepared to go up against the Religious and/or Conservative establishment, they will get my support!

We found the following article while we were browsing the web, we thought you might like to read it as well:

City Council in Philadelphia is moving ahead with a $199,000 rent increase (from $1) on that Cities Scout Chapter “The Cradle of Liberty Council”, because they have so far refused to accept openly Gay Scouts and Scout leaders.

Philadelphia Solicitor Romulo L.Diaz Jr. states that Mayor John Street, City Council and the Fairmont Park Commission (City landlord) have been asking the Scouts for the last year for a clear cut anti-discrimination policy. So far this has not been produced. Diaz says the Scouts have been given a choice: agree definitively in writing to stop the discrimination, or pay a new rent at market value!

“They had been put on notice over the last year by the mayor, the City Council and the Fairmount Park Commission that they had a choice to make,” Diaz said in a phone interview with Fox News. “They need to provide evidence that they would not engage in discriminatory practices against gays as either Scout masters or Boy Scouts. …. They have either not responded or essentially played the victim.”

The article goes on to say that while the Boy Scouts of America doesn’t allow openly Gay members, the do have that fabulous “don’t ask, don’ tell policy”. According to Jeff Jubelirer a spokesman for the Cradle of Liberty Council, “We know there are gay Scouts. Of course there are. We don’t care. Nobody cares. We tried to change the policy. National wouldn’t allow us. We’re trying to do the right thing as all parties are concerned.”

Now not being from the US, but from that little Country just North of there (Canada), shouldn’t/couldn’t this issue be attacked the same way that Gay marriage/Civil Unions are being handled by various States (and previously successfully in Canada), the nibble away approach? That is each Chapter make there own rules. After all Canada started the slippery slope to Gay Marriage, which is legal her by making it legal Province by Province, until basically it was legal in almost the whole Country. In the US case, Gay Marriage is now allowed Massachusetts, Civil Unions are now recognized in Connecticut, Vermont, New Jersey and California. As of January 1st 2008 include New Hampshire in that fold. Legal Unions are now recognized in Maine, Hawaii, District of Columbia, Oregon and (as of January 1st 2008) Washington.

Not wanting to get too Political on this site, we should keep in mind that Public policy and Laws are just that! PUBLIC.

Every time I’m in New York and in Chelsea I always see the Naked Boys Singing sign and think about going, but I’m usually only there for a few days and there’s always some big new huge Broadways shows that end up swallowing my time. Well, luckily for me, Naked Boys Singing have released a movie and that movie is now coming out on DVD. I’ve ordered my copy, but thought I’d let you all know about it.

The premise is pretty simple - a bunch of really talented gay men singing and dancing….in the buff. Sounds corny? Well it is, but it’s also really amazing. In fact, the best way to describe it is from their website:

You have to love Brazil, not only for their beautiful people, stunning beaches and the magnificent countryside. We now find we love Brazilian TV, after all they have “Beija Sapo” (Kissing Toads). Produced for MTV Brazil, and hosted by Brazilian model Daniella Cicarelli pictured here with her boyfriend. Earlier this year the couple were in the news for (secretly) being filmed having sex in the shallow water at the beach!!!! More on this later.

The show “Kissing Toads” is the Brazilian version of the TV show “Blind Date”, the twist here is that once or twice a season they have a Gay edition. The lead participants called the Prince or Princess have to choose between three contestants who are completely dressed up in Toad outfits. The Prince/ss have to get to know the “Toads” through questioning them, the Toads friends and a song with lyrics penned by the Toads. The show ends with the selected Toad (revealing his/herself) and the Prince/ss kissing.
